Origin
The Monstera has the Dutch nickname Gatenplant. This plant is native to Central and South America.

Properties
The Monstera owes the name Hole Plant to the special shapes of the leaves with holes that become larger during flowering. The Monstera is by nature a tropical climbing plant that can grow quite high.
